Persian Hand-Knotted Wool Runner Rug

Item Details

A Persian hand-knotted wool runner rug featuring an elongated ivory central lozenge field with four repeating lamp medallions. The medallions are adjoined with vining, floral and boteh motifs in accent colors of deep blue, dark rose, golden yellow, green and dark red. The guard border has repeating lobed flowers and abstract forms on a dark red ground, with a floral outer border. The rug is finished with overcast selvage edges, having short cream warp fringe to one end, with a turned under edge to the opposite end. Marked with an attached ‘Made in Iran’ label to verso.

Condition

- with abrash. There is soiling with wear to pile. The selvage and ends are worn with damage and loss. Would benefit from cleaning.
