Red Chinese Dragon

A red resin Chinese Dragon, made by Earthbound Trading Company. The box reads ‘Legends of Chinese mythology and culture. In eastern cultures, dragons are considered benevolent rather than aggressive. They are said to have power over the water element, such being able to control rainfall and flooding. Dragons also symbolize male energy, or yang. Historically, dragons are a symbol of a reigning authority figure, such as the emperor. Dragons are depicted as having the scales of a fish, antlers of a deer, mane of a horse and claws of an eagle. The various aspects of different animals show the dragon’s connection to the natural world. They are often shown flying without needing wings.’ The box also notes that the dragon is ‘believed to attract luck, strength, power and wealth’. The dragon has detailed design, having an open mouth and a gaze that looks straight ahead.
