1847 Rogers "Ancestral" Flatware Set in a Wooden Chest
Item Details
A silver plated flatware service by 1847 Rogers Bros. for International Silver. The forty-eight piece group was made in the Ancestral pattern consisting of a shaped top with an open reserve over embossed decoration depicting an urn with foliate scrolls within a beaded border. There are stainless steel blades on the knives. The collection is composed of twelve forks, knives and teaspoons as well as a small bouillon spoon, and eleven larger ones. There are marks reading ‘1847 Rogers Bros. I S.’
Condition
- scratches and nicks to wood on the box, the drawer on the bottom is warped; there is tarnish and scratches on the utensils, tips of some forks are bent slightly and one knife blades is damaged.
