Two Vintage Composition and Kid Leather Dolls
Item Details
A pair of vintage or antique composition and kid leather dolls. One doll has a composition head with hand-painted facial features, and china hands. Her hair wig is light brown. She has a white kid leather covered stuffed body and limbs, and wears a blue dress. The dress appears to be more recently made, and is likely not original to the doll. The other doll has a composition head and shoulders with hand-painted facial details, and she appears to retain her original dangle earrings. The doll’s eyes may be glass; her body and limbs are stuffed, with white muslin covering. The doll’s hand and forearm is made of composition material, as are her boots, which are painted blue. The doll’s muslin body is stamped ‘Lewis Sorensen’.

- doll with blue dress has thumb of one hand broken off; kid leather body is soiled
- unclothed doll has stains to the body; right hand is missing; crazing to face and upper body
