Suzuki Harunobu Offset Lithographs "Eight Parlor Views"

A collection of offset lithographs after Suzuki Harunobu’s (1724 – 1770) Eight Parlor Views. These eight prints on paper feature prints after Evening Snow on a Lacquered Tub, Twilight Glow of a Japanese Lantern, After the Storm of Fans and Returning Sails on a Towel Rack. They depict Japanese women, who are dressed in Edo-period clothing, drawing water, folding laundry, styling hair and stitching, and are rendered with a Nishiki-e technique, which utilizes multiple colored wood blocks for printmaking. Each print is presented under glass in a black wooden frame with a sawtooth bracket found to the verso.
Condition
- minor scratches and abrasions on frames; prints out of alignment with frames; mild tonal and discoloration of prints; joints of frames separating.

- measures frame; visible image measures: 8.0" W x 11.0" H; each print measures approximately identical.
