"The Storm" Print After Pierre Auguste Cot

A framed print of The Storm after the original painting by French painter Pierre Auguste Cot (1837-1883). One of Cot’s most famous paintings, it depicts a woman in a sheer dress running with a half naked man through the woods as they hold a piece of yellow drapery overhead. ‘P + A + COT + 1880’ is printed to the lower left corner and it presents in a heavily carved giltwood frame with a mounting wire to the verso. The original painting was done in 1880 and currently hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Condition

Minor chips on frame, consistent with storage.
