A gauche painting on wax titled La Musette after an original painting by François Boucher (French; 1703 – 1770), originally created in 1759. This reproduction painting depicts a young woman reclining on a pillow while a young man gazes at her longingly. A sheep is present to the right of the composition near the woman’s feet with a small dog is present to the left. This piece is unsigned, however, to the verso a label with the original artist name and the title is present. Housed behind acrylic glass with a dark fabric interior mat within a gold tone wooden frame.
Condition
- wear to the fabric matting; scuffs and scratches are present to the frame; backing is worn; hanging hardware is loose.
