An etching on paper by Bertrand after an original portrait of Jean-Jacques Baron D’Erlach by Claude-Nicolas Malapeau (French, 1755-1803). Depicted in a quarter-length portrait, the Swiss General is set into an oval frame with descriptive text below. To the lower left margin is the printed name of the printer; to the lower right margin is the printed name of the artist. Presented under glass with a reverse glass black border inside a wooden frame.
Condition
- scratches to the black paint underneath glass; scuffing to the wood frame; tears to paper verso.
