Antique Cast Iron Fluting Presses
Item Details
A set of two antique cast iron fluting presses. The late 19th-century items were used to add crimps and ruffles to linen clothing items such as cuffs and trim. Featured is a Crown fluter machine with hand-crank; the piece is marked Crown to the base and includes the patent number and date of 1876. Also featured is a Geneva Hand Fluter. The piece is marked to both the back and handle and accented with small dot decoration.
Condition
- some rusting and chipping to metal surface; items have not been tested; Geneva fluter does not include base.
