Antique Walnut Wine Bottle Carrier

Item Details

An antique walnut wine bottle carrier. This rectangular walnut carrying tray, dating to circa the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, is divided into four compartments for carrying bottles of wine on their sides, each with a curved notch for the protruding neck of the bottle, and has a brass tone carrying handle at the center. This piece has a former retail label on the underside but no apparent maker’s marks.

Condition

- some scratches and dust; one corner is broken off; tarnish to metal handle; green felt peeling from underside.
