Hiroyuki Tajima Limited Edition Woodcut Print "Red Wall"

A signed limited edition woodcut print titled Red Wall circa 1970, by Japanese printmaker from the sōsaku-hanga school, Hiroyuki Tajima (1911–1984). Tajima is known for his abstract woodblock prints that feature luminous colors, bold compositions, and a strong sense of balance inspired by his Zen Buddhist beliefs. Red Wall, features a red rectilinear form in the center middle of the print with blue green and black markings and a yellow rectilinear form to the lower middle with black and gray markings all on a black ground. This piece is pencil signed by the artist in the lower margin along with the title, Japanese characters, “50-34”, and date. The print has a single white mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
