Circa 1880 Mother of Pearl Sterling Silver Pie Server from Sheffield

A sterling silver pie server with a mother of pearl handle, produced in Sheffield, England, circa 1880. This antique piece has foliate and floral etching around the rim of its hastate head, and a handle wrapped in mother of pearl. The underside is marked with a crown, indicating it was produced in Sheffield, England; a lion passant, indicating it is sterling silver; and ‘RNEH’, indicating it was produced by Martin, Hall & Co., some time after 1880. The total approximate weight of this piece, including non-precious material, is 1.495 ozt.
