An original oil painting on pine board by Edgar Hatten depicting an abstracted landscape in a tonal palette. The organic landscape comprises fluffy trees on a sparse golden field with green hills in the distant. While the painting is not signed, the hand written notation on the back states ‘Very early piece 1960’s by Ed Hatten purchased in Ocean Beach, S.D. in 1992 for $500.00, Paul Hendricks collection’. The painting is simply framed in thin wooden lathe applied to the sides of the stretcher.

Edgar Hatten (1929-1990) was born in Evanston, Wyoming but spent the majority of his life in Los Angeles, California.
