A chromolithograph on paper after an original oil painting on canvas titled Portrait of Robert Burns (1759-1796) by well-listed Scottish artist Alexander Nasmyth (1758-1840). In an oval composition, the Scottish poet is depicted in a quarter-length portrait. An exterior setting is visible behind him. Unsigned by the artist. Under a single layer of cream mat, the item is presented under glass in a wooden frame.
Condition
- discoloration to print due to age and exposure to light; paint present to four corners of glass; split in wood backing to verso; discoloration to the mat.
