A 1938 First American Edition hardcover edition of Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen, the pen name of Karen Blixen (1885-1962). The novel was published in New York by Random House, being manufactured in America by H. Wolff Book Manufacturing Company, Inc., of New York City. The novel served as the basis for the 1985 self-named Academy Award winning film starring Robert Redford and Meryl Streep.
