An oil painting on canvas laid on board attributed to well-listed artist Florence Smithburn (1904-1989). This work features a terracotta hut situated among a lush tropical ambiance. The painting is unsigned and remains unframed.

Smithburn has been categorized as a Regionalist artist known for landscapes and still lifes. She studied at the John Herron Art School in Indianapolis and the Art Students League in New York. Her work has been exhibited in numerous cities across the United States, including Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, Atlanta, and others. This work was exhibited at the Indiana Regionalist Exhibition: Paintings from 1930-1950 held at the Richmond Art Museum in Indiana in 2012.
