Underwood and Underwood Stereograph Collection
Item Details
A collection of four book-like boxes containing antique ‘stereographs’. The stereographs are double black and white photographs applied to rigid cardboard backing, and were designed to be viewed through a viewer, which renders the images in three dimensions. Included are several book-like boxes, filled with various stereographs depicting a variety of regions, including Egypt, Norway, Arizona and the Grand Canyon, and Athens, Greece. The bindings of the boxes are marked Stereographs and were published by Underwood and Underwood at the turn of the twentieth century. Two of the book boxes are ‘double’, and two are single.
