An oil painting on board of an Impressionist landscape, created by listed Swiss artist Jean Affeltranger (1874-1955). This work features a central dirt path surrounded by a forest landscape of tall trees filled with green leaves. With loose painterly brushstrokes and dabs of impasto, the artist provides an Impressionist rendering of the subject. The painting is signed to the lower right and presented in a brown wood frame. Based in Switzerland, Affeltranger was known for his Impressionist paintings often depicting rural or mountainous landscapes retreated from civilization.
