Francis Seymour Haden Etching of Woman and Trees

Item Details

An original etching on paper by Francis Seymour Haden (1818 – 1910). This work depicts a woman standing in front of a building with a large shade tree leaning over the entrance. The piece is hand signed in plate to the lower right corner and hand signed beneath it, it is also dated 1877. A hand written number, ‘175’, is written in the lower left corner beneath the image. It is presented behind a mat in a frame for display.

Condition

- plate created cloudy ink on etching; image and mat are toning; water spots at top left of mat; glass has been removed; wire wall mount is broken off from the left side; frame has nicks and scratches throughout.
