A circa 1920’s Van Briggle Colorado Springs Hopi Maiden posed kneeling while grinding corn. The figure is done in a very unusual pale flesh color matte glaze with hints of blue at the woman’s wrap. The pottery is hand printed to the underside ‘Van Briggle Colo. Spgs’ with the Cross and A emblem and the initials A.S. which refer to the artist Ambrose Schlegel, a master potter from 1903-1930.

Condition

There are no chips or cracks.
