A National Geographic Society contemporary giclee and halftone print of a 17th-century world map. The map is printed onto three large sheets of latex-impregnated paper. The mural-sized piece is labeled ‘A New and Accurate Map of the World’ to the top and dated 1651 in plate. The map includes inset charts for celestial and astrological phenomena, as well as images of explorers such as Ferdinand Magellan. The piece is unframed and unsigned; it is listed to the corner of one page as being printed by the National Geographic Society
