Item Details
An offset lithograph on fabric of a world map by Wychwood Blaeu. This print depicts a world map from 1665, which is presented with two globe halves adorned with various ornate portraiture to the margins of the composition. To the lower margins of the composition is a header, which reads ‘Blaeu Wall Map’, that sits above an extensive biographical statement regarding Blaeu. The print is presented under glass beneath a single-layered mat in a stained wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- frame has scratches throughout; mat is acid burned; could benefit from dusting. (ARTIAS)
