Item Details
A halftone print depicting famed U.S. politician, Judah P. Benjamin. This monochromatic portrait depicts a man wearing a courtroom wig and robe. The piece is signed in plate ‘J. P. Benjamin’ to the lower right margin and is signed in plate ‘Saed Piercy 1883’ just below the image to the lower right. The work is presented behind a mat, under glass in a black coated wood frame with a wire to the verso ready to hang.
Condition
- stain toward bottom of mat; foxing around edges; wear to edges of frame; finish has rubbed off in a few areas of frame.
