An original oil painting on canvas by 20th century American artist Franci Anderson (Florida/Ohio). The painting depicts a mother and child holding hands and hurrying down a curving street. A tall hill rises beyond the street, covered in short homes with brightly colored roofs and doorways. The painting is created in heavy impasto, with broad strokes of paint applied directly with the artist’s palette knife. The painting is signed in navy blue to the lower right. A stamp from the artist’s estate is visible to the verso of the stretcher bars. The painting is presented in a wooden frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire.
