1948 Nat Lowell Etching "Wall Street"

A circa 1948 etching on paper by American artist Nat Lowell (1880–1956) titled Wall Street. This cityscape etching is a view of the high-rise building fronts looking down Wall Street, framing the steeple of Trinity Church in the distance; the tiny figures of people and cars on the street appear vague and insignificant compared to the detailed architectural depictions. The etching is signed ‘Nat Lowell’ in graphite to the lower right of the image and is presented matted under glass in a frame with a hanging wire.
Condition
- plate mark visible; toning to image; print seems blurred from possible wear to plate; minor scuffs and nicks to frame; punctures, tears and adhesive tape to backing.
