A giclee on board reproduction of an original 1818 oil painting by well-listed American portrait artist Thomas Sully (1783 – 1872), titled Portrait of Biddle. John Biddle was a United States Congressman who served from 1829 to 1831. The portrait depicts him in a black jacket with gold accents, set against a formal dark background. The print is unsigned. ‘Major John Biddle’ is written on a tag attached to the verso. The piece is presented in an ovular wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, gold tone finish, and a hanging wire.
