Paul Phifer Signed Limited Edition Aquatint Etching "Derby #2"
Item Details
A signed limited edition 1976 aquatint etching with a la poupée coloring by artist Paul Phifer (20th-century), titled Derby #2. This image depicts a jockey racing on his horse, the speed and motion accentuated by multiple, overlapping printings from the same plate. The print is numbered 47 in an edition of 50, titled, signed and dated by the artist in pencil to the lower margin; mounted under coordinating double mat, behind glass in a beveled wood frame with a natural stained finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.
Condition
- to fair. Major accretion on and under glass, and on frame. Frame is damaged with chips and scratches. Print and mats are discolored.
