An original oil painting on canvas by well listed American artist Robert Hermann (1922-1996), titled Red School House and dated 1958. The painting illustrates Hermann’s signature subject, an architectural building in straightforward style using clean lines and saturated color. The Red School House has a flat gray roof against a brilliant blue sky with the only detailing being the gridded windows. The artist’s signature is present to the verso with the date ’58, the canvas frame is professionally floated against black in a simple gray frame.
Herrmann studied both art and architectural at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University.
