A hand-knotted Caucasian area rug. This rug features a geometric central medallion in mainly dark blue, light blue, red, and cream colors. The medallion lies on a deep red backdrop in a crenellated frame inside of a cream backdrop. A colorful, stylized samovar border appears on a dark blue ground color. Short white, knotted fringe appears on either end. A label is attached to the underside of the rug and is marked, ‘3554, 06’.
