A pair of books and a print based on the Walt Disney character Elmer Elephant from the 1936 Silly Symphonies cartoon of that title. This collection features a 1936 Good Housekeeping page summarizing the original cartoon in color illustrations and verse; the 1939 Whitman Publishing Company children’s book Timid Elmer; and the 1978 McKay hardcover Walt Disney’s Elmer Elephant, which reprints 1930s children’s book adaptations of ‘Elmer Elephant’ and ‘Peculiar Penguins.’ Also included is the 1934 Good Housekeeping preview page for ‘Peculiar Penguins.’
Condition
- page yellowing and wear to Timid Elmer consistent with age; corner wear to Walt Disney’s Elmer Elephant; pencil marking in upper right corner of Elmer print.
