Framed Antique Maps from Mithchell's School Atlas
Item Details
A collection of framed antique maps from Mitchell’s School Atlas published 1855. This selection includes four maps after original engravings by J.H. Young. The maps depict European countries from the year 1852, including France, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, and more. The maps are all presented under blue mat and three are behind glass in wooden frames with a gold tone finish. Those three frames have single sawtooth hangers to verso.
Condition
- minor dents and scratches to frames; mat is acid burned; Map of France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy was removed from frame and backing not secure; some pages are wavy. (ARTIAS HS)

- measurements reflect the frame of Map of Europe; visible image: 13.5" W x 10.5" H; frame for Map of Germany, Switzerland, and Northern Italy and Map of Great Britain and Ireland: 13.25" W x 16.25" H x 0.75" D; visible image: 10.5" W x 13.5" H.
