A lithograph map of U.S.A. in early 1800s. Featured is a hand-colored lithograph on paper depicting a map of the United States in the early 19th Century. The piece is presented behind a lilac mat behind glass in a dense styrofoam frame with beveled edges and a gold tone finish. The map is a reproduction of a piece originally engraved by W. Williams. It has writing to the lower right that reads ‘No. 5 Engraved to Illustrate Mitchell’s School and Family Geography’.
Condition
- minor scratches to frame throughout; crease through center (map taken from the book); mat is acid burned; map is loose in frame. (ARTIAS HS)
