19th Century Chinese Ceramic Famille Rose Moon Flasks
Item Details
A pair of 19th Century Chinese ceramic famille rose moon flasks. These two moon shaped vases feature a famille rose palette in a light pink rose medallion pattern with light blue dragon handles. The central vignette depicts an elegant interior scene with female musicians and a dancer. The vignette on the verso features the Sanxing deities, the Gods of Longevity, Status, and Prosperity, alongside two young boys practicing calligraphy. The undersides are stamped ‘China’ alongside a six-character Jiajing reign mark (大清嘉靖年製_). The flasks appear to be produced in the Jiajing period (1796-1820) or in the following Daoguang reign (1821-1850).
