A handwoven Kerman area rug. The rug features a central medallion in a palette of cream, black, powder blue, and tan that sits on top of a red red field. The field is populated with floral embellishments with a spandrel sitting at each corner. The field is surrounded by an ornate compound border with floral and foliate elements and a primary border featuring a detailed and dense pattern of florals and scrolled lancet motifs on indigo with elements in the same colors as the field. It has a densely woven cotton kilim skirt with fringe to one end. It is tagged to the reverse.
