Item Details

A hand-knotted Lilihan Sarouk palace-size rug. This semi-antique Persian wool rug features an allover vase design with tree of life, palmette, and floral patterns in a variety of blues over a salmon field. The primary border is filled with trees of life and flowers over a cerulean ground, the border framed on each side by double guard strips that contain meandering florals. Finely knotted, the rug finishes in very short wool warp finge and has pink, overcast edges that reveal the presence of blue weft threads. It is unmarked.
