Item Details

A mid-century oil painting on canvas perspective scene by H. Bartlett, dated 1950. This piece depicts a male figure resting on the stairs with his body painted in a geometric pattern within pastel tonalities; he is situated in a dark interior area surrounded with multiple columns and stairs. This work is signed and dated by the artist to the lower right corner of the composition. Presented without glass, housed in a wood frame with a gray finish.

Condition

- under UV light multiple areas of inpainting scattered throughout the composition; minor stretcher marks slightly noticeable through painting; there is a restoration patch affixed to the lower left area of the canvas verso; minor abrasion to edges on frame.
