An original vintage oil painting on canvas by listed coastal artist James Peter Cost (California, 1923 – 2002). The massive painting depicts a seascape where foaming waves roll peacefully along massive boulders that litter the foreground. In the distance, the cloudy sky glows with hazy pink, blue, and purple light that reflects across the water. The piece is signed in-wet-paint to the lower right. It is presented in a wooden frame with rustic white and gold tone finish and off-white linen lining. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.
