Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of a landscape titled Florist’s Dawn, created by artist Louis Weiss (American, 1909-1988). Portrayed with thick textural impasto and dabs of color, this impressionistic work features a grassy field filled with red flowers and trees. A bluish-purple background is accented with dabs of pink, red, and green. The painting is signed in blue to the lower right. It is presented in a brown and green wood frame. A label adhered to the verso states that the canvas was prepared and primed for painting, and also treated to protect against deterioration.
Condition
- some paint loss along edges of painting; some wear to frame including scratches, chips, and discoloration throughout; foxing and stains to the back of canvas.
