An original watercolor on paper titled Searching the Sand by well known Cincinnati artist Carl Zimmerman (1900-1985). The expressive painting depicts choppy waves and a rocky shoreline, signed by the artist in the lower right. The painting remains unframed, it is matted on foam core and has been protected in clear vinyl wrap.

Carl Zimmerman was a prominent Cincinnati artist and a well respected teacher at the Cincinnati Art Academy, Taft Museum and Cincinnati Art Museum. He was also the President and a longtime member of the Cincinnati Art Club. Zimmerman studied art under Reginald Grooms, John E. Weis and Herman Wessel.
