French Louis XVI Style Burl Mahogany/Elm Cabinet with Vitrine Top

A fabulous French Louis XVI style burl elm cabinet with a vitrine case to the top. The cabinet features a glass-doored vitrine with scalloped and beveled cornice, with an ormolu scrollwork medallion to the center, and ormolu egg and dart banding to the glass panels. The vitrine is supported to the back with an inlaid burl elm apron, and to the front with foliate ormolu legs. The cabinet enjoys a gray and beige marble top with scalloped form, and below, a drawer distinguished with a pierced ormolu frieze band, which is repeated to the top of the side panels. The single door is designed with extraordinary starburst motif inlaid marquetry, accentuated by ormolu banding and seashell corners. The cabinet has rounded pilaster corners embellished with ormolu floral cascades, and tapered legs accented with ormolu acanthus leaf sleeves, with octagonal feet.

The cabinet is located on the second floor. Please bring a hand cart to facilitate moving, along with protective moving blankets.
