An oil painting on stretched canvas of a seated nude female figure by listed American artist Henry Boller Pancoast (1876-1962). This work features a nude woman seated on a wood stool, set in front of a vague brown background. She turns her body to the left, revealing a profile view of her face. The painting is signed in red to the lower left and remains unframed.
Pancoast is an Impressionist style American painter who spent much of his career working in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from both the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Drexel Institute. Pancoast would later join the Philadelphia Art Club and be exhibited regularly at the Pennsylvania Academy. He was most well-known for his landscapes and coastal genre scenes.
