An oil painting on canvas titled Old Shallowford Store by American landscape artist Richard Wagner (1923-2009) This modern impressionistic painting features a depiction of a red painted building on stilts with palm trees to the foreground and a bay to the background rendered in a vibrant naturalistic palette. It is signed to the lower right corner and presented in a gold painted wood frame with linen and a wire to verso for hanging. The artist is originally from Ohio and his work is found in many private and public collections, museum exhibits, namely the Museum of Modern Art, New York, national art galleries and solo exhibitions. He taught art at Dartmouth College and other universities.
