Giovanni Volpato After Raphael Hand-Colored Architectural Engravings

A pair of vintage hand-colored steel plate engravings by Italian artist Giovanni Volpato (1735–1803), after frescoes painted by Italian Old Master Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, or Raphael (1483-1520). The images depict Classical scenes of Roman architecture, statues, figures, animals, and mythological creatures. These images have been hand-colored with soft blue watercolors. The prints are presented under glass in engineered wood frames with a pickled finish, gilt interior edges, and velveteen faux-mats. Sawtooth hangers are attached to the versos of the pieces for hanging.
Condition
- some scuffs and scratches to frames.
