A handwoven Iranian area rug. The rug features a central medallion filled with floral and tree of life guls in a palette of indigo, cream, tan, and red that sit on top of a deep red field. The field features scattered floral double medallions with anchors throughout in a matching palette as the central field and is enclosed within a compound resolved border. The border features a continuous pattern of floral guls and triangle stamps with a short, birds and other symbols, and cream fringe to either end. The rug is tagged to the verso ‘handmade in Iran, handwoven’.
