A probable first edition of A. A. Milne’s Now We Are Six with original dust jacket. This book, published in 1927 by Methuen & Co. of London, features poems by A. A. Milne and illustrations by E. H. Shepard, some of which feature the character Winnie-the-Pooh from two previous Milne books. The book is a red clothbound hardcover with gilt stamped cover decoration; the spine of the dust jacket is marked with the price ‘7/6 Net.’ A previous owner has inscribed ‘Mary Gordon, October 1927’ on the front flyleaf.

Condition

- toning and chipping of dust jacket; crack in top of spine; inscription dated 1927 and marks on front endpapers; page yellowing and general shelf wear consistent with age.
