An original Paul Berthon 1901 chromolithograph of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. Berthon (1872-1908) is listed as a great French Art Nouveau artist, known, much like his contemporary Alphonse Mucha, for his posters. This lithograph, ‘Sa Tres Gracieuse Majeste la Reine Wilhelmine’ depicts Queen Wilhelmina with the dutch landscape, flat land and windmills, in the background and regional tulips in the foreground. Queen Wilhelmina reigned from 1890-1948 and is remembered for her role in World War II. The print is signed and dated within the matrix in the upper right ‘Paul Berthon 1901’ and presented in an ornate gold painted wooden frame with off-white matting.
