An oil painting on canvas of a coastal scene by listed artist Rachel V. Hartley (New York; 1884 – 1955). This painting depicts a boardwalk with two boys watching a man paint under an umbrella to shield him from the sun. Behind him is a beach fill with figures wearing swimsuits. The piece is signed to the lower right corner. Presented in a gold tone composite frame. without glass. Hartley was known for her figural landscapes and illustrations.

- some scuffs are present to the frame; small brown stains are present to the right side of the piece.
