A signed limited edition serigraph on heavyweight rag paper with deckled edges by well-listed Op artist and Abstract Expressionist Larry Poons (Tokyo/New York; born 1937), published by Larry B. Wright Art Productions, New York; printed in 1979 by Stephen Simon, as indicated by the blind stamps to the lower left and right corners. The image depicts a composition of muted, pale hues of cream, jade, mauve, khaki, and indigo, rendered in thick, glossy, sticky ink as splatters of paint running down a vertical pale gray wall, over which additional heavy, gray ink is layered, oozing downward. The print is numbered 145 in an edition 0f 210 and signed by the artist in pencil to the lower margin. Poons’s work is represented in the collections of numerous reputed institutions, including the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Yale University Art Gallery; Portland Art Museum, Oregon; the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.; and the Print Club of Albany, among many others.
