Signed Original 1968 Letter from Georgia O'Keeffe

Item Details

An original signed letter written in ink on paper on October 24, 1968 from very well-listed American modernist painter Georgia O’Keeffe (1887 – 1986) to contemporary well-listed American artist Beth Hertz (Ohio/New York, 1920 -). The letter is in response to a letter written by Hertz on April 4, 1968, and most of its content is O’Keeffe apologizing for responding so late. She also gives Hertz permission to use ‘the Stieglitz material,’ likely referring to the famed love letters written between O’Keeffe and famed American photographer Alfred Stieglitz throughout their careers. The letter is currently housed in a protective sleeve.
