An early 19th century folk art oil painting of a young English dandy. This work is signed to the verso F. A. Pafforf and executed in oil on a burlap canvas. Featured is a young man dressed in a regency tailcoat, with striped breeches and vest, a white cravat and holding his ‘John Bull’ topper in his hand. The original stretcher and canvas has been secured by the attachment of an outer frame for preservation purposes.

- canvas edge fraying; crackling; soiling; areas of paint loss.
